Not sure how many of you all are actually up on this one, but there was definitely a time in my life when I knew every word to this little 1991 gem. It’s funny listening to this now. She’s rapping about her loving, protective father who used to leave and go on business trips and how she was wildin’ out behind his back. Today, all you hear from most rap artists is dead beat/non-existent fathers and how they ache for that connection. According to Wikipedia, Nikki D is now the marketing manager at Phat Fashions, the apparel company for Phat Farm and Baby Phat. I guess she’s been down with Russ for more than a minute. She was the first female rapper to sign to Def Jam back in 1989.
