Martin Luther King Jr. was assasinated on April 4 in 1968. Normally, I prefer to acknowledge people’s birthdays rather than whenever they died, but in this case, acknowledging MLK’s assasination is very important. This occurred not so long ago. Just a little more than a decade before I was born.
He spoke of peace, equality and harmony among the different races and he was ruthlessly killed. Could you imagine someone like MLK being assassinated today? It’s really scary and sad to think that someone who dedicted his life to making the world a better place was just picked off like that. We still have a ways to go to realize his dream and I hope we can all make real strides towards that goal. He is so much more than the “I Have a Dream” speech and I encourage you to read more about him beyond his iconic speech.
