That Was My Jam!: “We’re All In The Same Gang,” West Coast All Stars

Watching this video makes me want to watch “Menace II Society” and “Boyz n’ the Hood.” This song is basically the west coast version of “Self Destruction.” Though not NEARLY as good, it was the jam for a minute and they pulled out 80% of popular west coast rappers at the time. Also the video has a much stronger narrative voice than “Self Destruction” and now that I’m watching for the first time in a long time, I can see the Tiananmen Squareness of the ending.

My favorite verses are from Humpty (of all people) and Eazy-E.  Not sure how appropriate it was to call himself the “violent hero” on a song about peace, but his verse was tight.
