Weekend Brunch Reading: President Obama’s Remarks on Trayvon Martin

President Barack Obama gave one of the most, if not thee most, poignant speeches about race in America ever given by a president. It was passionate (but appropriately tempered), honest and thought-provoking. You can watch the video above (I highly recommend that) or read the full transcript of the speech here.

President Obama has a lot of work to to before he leaves office, but I’m really looking forward to post-White House Obama. I think he’s going to be an even greater game-changer in the world of politics, policy and public discourse. Jimmy Carter talks about any and everything and could care less about who disagrees and he’s not running for office, so he has no need to “clean up” his comments. When Jimmy Carter talks you are basically getting Jimmy Carter unfiltered. When Obama is there? Yes. Let’s have a look into that brilliant mind.
